Dr. Justin Ahn is a 2-year Laparoscopy/Endourology Fellow at the UCSF Department of Urology.  He completed his Urology residency at University of Washington in Seattle, studying national imaging patterns in kidney stone patients as well as techniques to improve burstwave and shockwave lithotripsy. His research interests include novel diagnostics and therapies for kidney stones, medical education, and patients safety and quality improvement.  In addition to collaborating on multiple clinical research projects using the ReSKU clinical database, he is currently studying the use of contrast enhanced ultrasound to predict ureteral stent omission.  He is also working to implement a near-miss resident education conference across surgical training programs.
