[email protected]

Education

MD, 2005, Nagoya City University, Nagoya, Japan

PhD, 2014, Nagoya City University Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Nagoya, Japan

Clinical Interests

At Nagoya City University, Dr. Taguchi organized a new endourological team tasked with performing endoscopic combined intrarenal surgery (ECIRS) for kidney stones. He used new equipment (digital scope, access sheath, baskets) to improve the surgical success rate. He also established clinical paths with other health care professionals to make admissions paperwork easier.

Research Interests

In Nagoya City University, Dr. Taguchi was a primary investigator in urology basic research lab and supervised research work of postgraduate students. He also taught them the skills for basic experiments, such as intra-abdominal and tail vein injections in mice, immunohistochemical staining, PCR, and flow-cytometry. Dr. Taguchi has conducted and summarized genome-wide analyses of human renal tissue and in vitro/vivo studies of renal macrophage to develop molecular target/crystal dissolution therapy for kidney stone disease. He got several Japanese government grants and his research won national and international awards.

Dr. Taguchi has joined Chi Lab since July 2016 to collaborate basic research work and initiate a cross-continent study between UCSF and Nagoya City University.
