During May 5-6, 2017, several leading researchers from the west coast gathered in San Francisco to attend the Biomineralization Symposium. These included Dr. Thomas Chi and Dr. Marshall Stoller from the UCSF Department of Urology, Dr. Sunita Ho from the UCSF Department of Dentistry, Dr. Pankaj Kapahi from Buck Institute for Research on Aging, and Dr. David Killilea from Children’s Hospital of Oakland Research Institute. In this meeting, Dr. Chi gave a talk about the genetics in kidney stones and his research using fly models to understand kidney stone pathogenesis.
